AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE HARRISON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION TO PURCHASE INSURANCE TO PROVIDE PROTECTION FOR THE LOSS OF TAX REVENUES DERIVED FROM CASINOS IF A NATURAL DISASTER CAUSES THE CASINOS TO CEASE OPERATION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Harrison County School District Board of Education, in its sole discretion, may purchase appropriate insurance, if available, to provide protection for the loss of tax revenues derived from casinos if a natural disaster causes the casinos to cease operation.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
